week8 nuke tracker

This is me finishing the replacement of the phone screen.

Transform a super useful node  that deals with translation, rotation, and scale as  well as tracking, warping, and motion blur. In the middle of this session, we can make the colorwheel vary in size while in motion.

In this project, we’re replacing the TV screen, and first we need to track the four corners

After adding the tracking node, we need to bake the path and make the object that needs to be tracked and tracked bake it so that we can replace the previous background and get the result we want.

This picture is also learning how to replace and track

  • First we’ll trace the four corners of the phone, then bake the path and trace it to completion.

Then I use the node roto to draw the mask, I need to do it in the first frame and in frame 80, because at this stage the hand will appear in the screen, after drawing the mask, the hand will not appear under the picture and the trace replacement screen is finished.

WEEK8 MAYA

This week we continued with the face model, we added texture to the face model, I found a scar texture to paint in photoshop and replace the previous texture. Plus a lighting render.

We have drawn some more facial expressions such as folds, wrinkles, etc. to make the character look more expressive. After that we will render the sequence frames, in maya we don’t need to render six different AOVs, and then import them into nuke, where we can colorize the animation.

This image is a texture I did in photoshop

WEEK 7 MAYA

This week, we mainly learned about the bone rigging of the character’s head. first of all, we need to build bones, rigging the mandible and skull respectively, and create a parents relationship with all the bones. So our heads and countenance can move.

Then to paint the weights, use Skin – Edit Smooth Skin – Paint skin weights tool and adjust the range of control and the degree of control of the head bones. Try to move the expression of the character, the model is normal when opening and closing the mouth, it proves that our model is successful in painting the weights.

Next we use the Curve tool to create a controller for the skeleton so that we can control the character model more easily.

In the Shape Editor panel, you can enter the editing mode of the character’s expression shape, and use the Sculpt, Move, Rotate and Scale tools to modify the character’s expression in the view. When you are done, click the Edit button again to save the changes made to this target shape and exit the editing mode.

And finally, the eight emoticons I made

Character expression

WEEK 7 NUKE COLORCORRECT

nuke, this week mainly learned about this node of color mixing, and different methods of color mixing, rendering out different effects, and compositing and exporting after the color mixing is done.

In adjusting this image, I toned the plane and the background sky separately, adding different nodes to the plane’s toning to achieve different effects.

The Difference Between ‘The Captain’ and ‘2012’Comparison

Disaster films are a specific classification of cinematic genre that takes on the mission of transmitting the culture and spirit of the nation.

2012 is a masterpiece of American disaster films, and after its release in North America in 2009, it created a box office success of $65 million in a three-day weekend and reached $790 million worldwide; while the domestic film Chinese Captain is also a masterpiece of Chinese disaster films, and after its release on China’s National Day in 2019, its box office reached $3 billion.

The audiovisual language of the Chinese Captain movie is well done, portraying clips of passengers boarding the plane to place their luggage, in order to amplify this realism and put the audience in the situation; the calmer it was before, the greater the psychological impact on the audience as the risk approaches. About half an hour into the film, the windshield of the plane’s cockpit breaks and the plane releases pressure, leaving the entire upper body of the co-pilot outside the fuselage. The pressure release also causes the crew to be slow to react and even unconscious, even the captain is briefly in a trance. As the plane continues to plunge into huge bumps, passengers are thrown into a state of panic as the cabin is depressurized and the air inside the cabin becomes so thin that passengers must remain on oxygen to breathe smoothly.
The Chinese Captain brilliantly recreates the crisis scenes, and the viewer is captivated by the film’s plot.

In the movie “2012”, the Mayan fable is used as a clue to show the human race’s doomsday and great catastrophe, which is the embodiment of the worry about the future, the film is visually stunning and psychologically shocking enough to make us unforgettable, pushing the disaster film to another peak. The film focuses on almost all the elements of a sub-disaster film, including super earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis, the descent and rise of the land, the inversion of the earth’s magnetic field, the destruction of cities, and the helpless and desperate crowd. In addition to this sensory stimulation and shock, it can trigger the audience to think deeply.

In the movie “2012”, the President tells his daughter.
“The only thing I have to do now is to tell the American people the truth, so at least they can say goodbye to their families when they know …… When the end comes, we should have the opportunity to say goodbye to our loved ones and friends, mothers can soothe their children, fathers can pray for their daughters’ forgiveness… …”
Such a few simple words, but make people cry, such “love”, in the “Chinese Captain” is also reflected. Yuan Quan, as the crew chief, tells the passengers in a critical situation, “Please believe our captain, we will go back together, we are also sons, daughters, fathers and mothers. We are professionally trained. Have the confidence, the ability, to keep you safe.”
Behind the different disasters, there is also a remarkable similarity in the embodiment of love in disaster films, which defies nationalities and cultures and spans time.

week 6 Nuke tracker

This week we learned about nuke tracing, nuke is not a very good software for me to understand, I need to spend more time working on the use of nodes and what the different nodes do.

First we mask the face of the character, in this node of roto, you can draw the mask curve of the face of the character, and do a good job of grouping, in the list of Roto Paint properties panel for good grouping, in this node of Roto Paint, also contains a lot of pairs of shapes, you can use any of the tools to draw, adding convenience, by Adjusting the video progress bar, we masked the entire head and neck of the video.

Then we tracked the familiarity of the video, first we have to create the roto node, the stone column into from the box, and add tracker node, track the stone column, add tracking points, start tracking, if the tracking path shows normal and complete tracking, under the CameraTracking panel. under the Analysis option, click Solve to solve. The green point is the correct point, the red point is the wrong tracking point, then do the final operation in the Transform of tracker and roto to connect the translate and center values. Running the video at this point reveals that the tracking was successful, and then I tracked each of the remaining columns and iron pipes on the bridge.

week 6 Rigging system

This week’s maya course focused on building character skeletons and creating animations and animated movements. I found creating skeletons and binding animations to be a challenge for me

We started by creating a simple character model using squares, the skeletons of each part of the model were represented by squares, then we selected each part of the skeleton to create a parent-child set relationship, because I was not careful enough, I made a mistake when creating the parent-child set relationship, I ungrouped and recreated it.

After creating the bones again, we will start to create IK, IK acts like a tendon, linking the bones, we create IK in the lock to connect the joints of the leg, we also need to be careful when creating IK, hip bone to thigh bone to calf bone to ankle, then ankle to heel to toe, no mistakes can occur, so we create IK, then by special copy to another One leg, after the IK is bound, we set up the IK of the foot to be sticky so that the character is not moved away and can be positioned to the center of the world. Finally, we created the circle via the curve tool and bound it to the parent set so that we have the Ik controller to better control our character’s movements in our later actions.

week 6 Animation

This week’s animation course we learned, the creation of character movements, when making action movements, we have to make the big action frame, make key frames, then make intermediate frames, and finally adjust the details and animation curves

The rate of my animation is 25 frames per second

Animation curves play a vital role in creating animation, playing a role in preventing mechanization, simulating the laws of nature’s movement, and adding details to life’s movement. As a lubricant for animation, it is simple and convenient, its usage is easy to understand, it can add rhythm to the picture, it can be looped, and it can be replicated. In the motion curve, a good animation curve has nothing but one biggest characteristic, which is smooth and rounded, try not to have cliff jumping curve, in my animation there is a big fluctuating curve, which causes the animation to look like a mechanical dance, so I have to check which stitch of the animation has a problem, this detail is also reflected in the curve.

week 6 Hard ball and soft ball

This class learned about the movement patterns and adjustment curves of hard and soft balls, and gained a better understanding of the curve patterns of rolling and bouncing balls.

The curve of motion of a soft ball, it has to be a little bigger, to have some waves, better for the little ball to bounce, elastic motion means that the object is subjected to a force that produces a change in shape, producing an elastic force, and when the shape disappears, the elastic force disappears accordingly, the shape of this soft ball of mine does not reflect it.

The law of motion of a hard ball, which has a relatively gentle curve compared to a soft ball, is not very elastic, just like a very dense object smashed down, so the curve should not fluctuate too much

week 5 Nuke

This week we studied NUKE, although we had studied it before, we only studied tracking, today with this class I discovered the versatility of nuke functions.

First pour into a video in nuke, nuke is nodal software, we can click TAB, to create different nodes, link the created nodes, can make the video show different effects, and can be adjusted to the video color and size adjustment.

We can also blur the video out, click tab, add blur, adjust parameters, blur the video, add keyframes, the system sub automatically processes the data and can adjust the curve, make simple adjustments to the duration and value of the blur.

Next, we created a colorwheel and connected to different nodes, so the colorwheel presented a different state, the size and color can be adjusted to the value of the nodes, and can even be used superimposed, after which we grouped and processed the different nodes, arranged and laid out the nodes, so I was able to basically master nuke’s merge tool and color Grading, transforming different nodes to create a simple composite.
